OHLSD mourns the passing of Dr. Clifton McMahon

Dr. McMahon served as superintendent of OHLSD from 1974-1985.
Dr. Clifton McMahon, beloved husband of Dona McMahon (nee Haught) Loving father of Craig McMahon and Debra (Thomas) Jones. Devoted grandfather of Karley Hanna Jones and Mya Zona Jones. Dear brother of Jack (Donna) McMahon. Passed away January 31, 2023. Age 91 years.
He was a 1949 graduate of Lower Salem High School in Lower Salem, Ohio, and received advanced degrees, including his doctorate, from Ohio University. In 1955, he joined the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he held a variety of roles in education from history teacher and basketball coach to high school principal, completing his public education career as Superintendent of the Oak Hills School District from 1974 to 1985. Following his time at Oak Hills, he continued his work with students and higher education, helping to develop the next generation of teachers and advising on Kentucky commonwealth educational policies, while serving on the faculty at Northern Kentucky University from 1985 to 1996.
Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 11 A.M. until time of prayers at 12 noon at Twin Towers, 5343 Hamilton Ave., Cinti., OH 45224 followed by a visitation from 5-8 P.M. at the Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave., Cinti., OH 45211.
Visitation and services the following day with visitation at 12 noon followed by Funeral service at 1 P.M. held Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Westwood United Methodist Church, 3460 Epworth Ave., Cinti., OH 45211. Burial to follow at Bridgetown Cemetery. Neidhardminges.com
