The Rise of E-Cigarettes
WHAT THEY ARE, WHO'S USING THEM AND WHAT WE CAN DO TO PROTECT OUR YOUTH

The use of e-cigarettes and vaping devices among youth in Greater Cincinnati has grown dramatically in recent years.
 
Parents and other adults working with middle and high school-aged youth are invited to learn from national experts about the changing tobacco product landscape, how youth are using tobacco in different and new ways, and what parents can do.

  • 6 p.m.: Registration (refreshments and light dinner provided).
  • 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Keynote presentation from Brian King, Deputy Director for Research Translation at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Office of Smoking and Health.
  • Location: Interact for Health, 3805 Edwards Road, Suite 500, Cincinnati, OH 45209.
  • Cost: Event is FREE, but registration is required.
Speaker
 
Brian King has worked for more than a decade to provide sound scientific evidence to inform tobacco control policy and to effectively communicate this information to key stakeholders, including decision makers, the media and the general public. He has written or co-written more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles pertaining to tobacco prevention and control, was a contributing author to the 50th Anniversary Surgeon General’s Report on Smoking and Health, was the lead author of CDC’s 2014 update to the evidence-based state guide, “Best Practices for Comprehensive Tobacco Control Programs,” and was the senior associate editor of the 2016 Surgeon General’s Report, “E-cigarette Use Among Youth and Young Adults.”
