OHLSD welcomes international families
More than 250 students and parents enjoyed OHLSD's Multilingual Family Day on Aug. 16.
Oak Hills staff members, along with staff from Refugee Connect and the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library, provided information and support at 11 different stations. Parents received help with back-to-school forms, interpreter services, and community resources along with free books, school supplies and a pop-up grocery store. Children had a chance to meet new friends, play games, eat pizza and receive literacy bags and books.
Families who attended spoke Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese, Amharic, Kirundi, Bengali, Oromo, Lingala, Mandarin. Tigrinya and English.
Oak Hills Local Schools welcomes our international families and is grateful for the richness and cultural depth they bring to our district and community!
