OHHS Art and Design Student Selected for the CAC's "Please Hold" Exhibition
The Contemporary Arts Center’s Teen Council (C-YA) recently invited teens from all over the country to submit their artwork for a summer art show titled "Please Hold". During these last few months, we’ve had many disruptions, both big and small. So much has been put on pause as we reprogram ourselves and create new routines. While we process confusion, outrage, and grief, there are also valuable moments of clarity as we learn to move forward. The selected artwork reflects this moment in time; the rituals and practices that keep us sane; the struggles and strengths of cohabitation; and, the changing relationships we have with the world outside.
OHHS Art and Design student, Henry Groh, created a work that was accepted for inclusion in the CAC's 2020 Teen Art Show. With so many teens from around the world who submitted works, narrowing down the applicants to a select few was a difficult task for the CAC. Originality and artistic quality were key factors into our selection, as well as including works that truly captured this unique moment in time.
"Please Hold" will open to the public on July 10 in the CAC's lower level lobby and will remain up until September 30. Due to attendance safety concerns "Please Hold" will not have a traditional large-scale opening to celebrate the exhibition. Please reserve free tickets to visit the galleries when the CAC opens in July with new limited hours via the link here.
