Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Emrie Fink Girls' Wrestling Jr
Emrie, went 5-1 with a Third place finish at the Tri-Valley Midwest Classic Tournament. There were over 40+ teams represented. She helped the Lady Highlanders Wrestling team to a top 10 finish! Her progress and leadership has been instrumental in the growth of Oak Hills Women’s Wrestling.
Brandon McFarland Boys' Wrestling Fr.
Brandon helped lead the Highlanders to a win over St. X by securing a win by fall in the first period.
Brycen Kessler Boys' Basketball Sr.
Brycen, a 2 year captain, scored 11 points in a tough 48-46 loss at Hamilton this past Friday. Brycen works extremely hard on and off the court. He has earned a 4.0 with an AP and Honors schedule, but also works a part-time job. He spends extra time in the gym in the early mornings and before practice to improve his skills.
Logan Meyer Boys' Swimming Fr
Logan was a strong competitor this week in the pool. He swam the 100 Butterfly at Princeton and came from behind to finish first. In the same race he achieved a personal best time with an 11 second drop. He also competed in many other events and was a member of multiple relays during 3 meets this week. Way to go, Logan!
Gia Hensley Girls' Swimming Sr
Gia competed in 2 dual meets and the Princeton Invitational this week. She is extremely close to achieving her personal best times in multiple events. Gia was a member of multiple top 5 relays at the Invitational, winning relays against Fairfield, and multiple runner up finishes in her individual events and on relays against Highlands. Gia is always willing to swim any event she is entered in without hesitation. She is a fun, energetic, and positive athlete to have on our team. We look forward to seeing what she can do at the end of the season!
Ava Kammerer Girls' Basketball Soph
Ava scored 40 points this week, including a career high 26 in a win over Colerain. Only a sophomore, Ava is a team captain while also earning a 4.0 GPA while taking multiple honors level classes.
Ellie Paul Girls' Bowling Fr
Freshman Ellie Paul is showing incredible growth in just two months as a member of the girls bowling team. In our recent matches with Fairfield and Newton, Ellie led the Junior Varsity girls, averaging 102 pins per game, which is 30 pins more per game than her season average! Ellie also rolled her new personal best high game of 138 in the match at Fairfield!
