Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Brandon Mitchell Boys' Wrestling Sr
Brandon Mitchell won his 100th Career win over the weekend wrestling at the Maumee Bay Classic. He leads the team in wins and placed 5th this weekend, a team high. He also succeeds in the classroom with a 3.4 GPA.
Connor Littelmann Boys' Bowling Sr
Connor rolled a 434 series against Sycamore to help the Highlanders win. Connor is currently averaging 191.3 and is 17th in the GMC.
Banan Walpole Boys' Bowling Soph
Banan rolled a 426 series against Sycamore to help the Highlanders get the win. Banan is averaging 184 in his first year on varsity and has stepped up when the team needs him.
Jaxon Schreiber Boys' Basketball Jr
Jaxon, a junior captain and a 3 sport athlete, scored 34 points last week including going 18-20 from the FT line. Jaxon is a very competitive student athlete who leads by example and leaves everything he has on the court in practice and in games. He also has earned a 3.7 GPA.
Ellie Cox Girls' Swimming Sr
As one of our senior captains, Ellie provides needed team communication and leads our team community service activities. At the Southwest District Classic Meet Ellie qualified for finals in 50 breaststroke finishing 11th overall.
Mason Bencurik Boys' Swimming Sr
Mason is a highest honor student and a highest honor athlete. At the Southwest District Classic meet, Mason qualified for finals in 3 of his 4 events. His overall places were 7th in 100 free, 12th in 50 free and 14th in 100 back.
Donnie Grote Boys' Swimming Jr
Our 2021 State Diver, Donny Grote, got into the finals for the Southwest District Classic Meet. It was his first big competition and he finished in 5th place putting him in a good position to make state for a second year.
Noah Asman Boys' Swimming Jr
As one of the team captains, Noah leads by example with hard work and experience as a state relay swimmer from 2021. At the Southwest District Classic meet, Noah qualified for finals in the 50 fly. He finished 5th overall.
Hailey Moeves Girls' Basketball Soph
Hailey is a sophomore and in her first year as varsity team manager. She has been a valuable addition to the girls basketball program. Hailey attends all practices and games, running the clock, handling uniform distribution and videotaping home and road contests. She always comes to games and practices ready to go. Thank you Hailey!
Maggie Brogan Girls' Basketball Soph
Maggie is a sophomore and in her first year as varsity team manager. She has been a valuable addition to the girls basketball program. Maggie attends practices and games, assisting with various team duties including running the clock, handling uniform distribution and videotaping home and road contests. She also handles all the team introduction handshakes! Thank you Maggie!
