Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Cannon Kartye Boys' Cross Country Sr
Cannon has been a fantastic leader his senior year. The intensity and positivity that he brings to practice every day have helped to elevate his teammates to various levels of success. He had a strong performance for Highlanders at the GMC Championship, earning 2nd Team GMC honors.
Carly Schloemer Volleyball Sr
Carly has been our utility player during this Fall season. She can play any position and stepped up doing it all. During our one match this week, Carly had 8 digs and 2 serving aces. Carly currently takes all of her classes at Miami University and plans to study Accounting.
Alyssa Hammond Girls' Cross Country Jr
Alyssa ran a great race this past Saturday at the GMC league meet. She placed 5th overall with a season's best time of 19:36 to help her team to a 2nd place league finish. She earned 1st team All-League honors for the third year in a row.
Kellee Shay Girls' Cross Country Soph
Kellee was asked to compete in the varsity GMC race just 20 minutes before race time due to a teammate not feeling well. With just a quick warm-up she stepped to the line ready to compete. Kellee ran an incredible race, placing 6th for her team and 24th overall, helping her team to a 2nd place finish. She earned 2nd team All-League honors. Kellee is also currently a varsity cheerleader.
