Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Erykah Cornett Girls' Soccer Jr
Erykah is a Junior Captain for the Highlanders. She helped her team this week get two big wins at home. She scored 2 goals and added 3 assists in the two games. Erykah is a multi-sport athlete (Girls' Basketball) and a 3-year Varsity player who has been extremely dangerous up top. Not only can she score, but she can also create assists to help her Highlanders win.
Ryan Williamson Boys' Golf Jr
Ryan led the Highlanders golf team with a 79 at the Hadley Inv this past Sunday.
Eric Dew Boys' Cross Country Fr
In his third high school cross country race, Eric had a big breakthrough, running a personal best by almost a minute. His performance suggests that he could be a varsity contributor as a freshman!
Peyton Bennett Volleyball Jr
During this week's games, Peyton came through big for us. She tallied 22 total kills and 2 solo blocks.
Jadon Turner Boys' Soccer Soph
Jadon scored both goals to lead Oak Hills in their 2-0 victory over Hamilton. Jadon is a sophomore and is leading Oak Hills in scoring for the season. Academically, Jadon has a 4.0 GPA.
Bryce Meyer Boys' Soccer Soph
Bryce Meyer recorded the first shutout of his high school varsity career in a 2-0 win at Hamilton. Bryce has played well all season, making key saves in a number of games this season. Bryce currently has a 3.86 GPA.
Gabby Osborn Girls' Tennis Soph
Gabby earned her fourth win of the season with a win over Middletown this past week. Gabby is currently 4-0 this season with various doubles partners. Gabby currently has a 4.0 GPA and is involved in ASL club.
Erin Kumler Girls' Golf Sr
Erin has worked hard through the off-season & her efforts are paying off! Each week she has improved on her average. Her skills & scores have greatly contributed to our winning season. This is all while taking AP classes & serving on the board for NHS.
Eva Hensley Girls' Cross Country Soph.
Eva won the Troy Twilight Invitational this past weekend running a time of 18:55. She helped her team to a 2nd place team finish out of 14 teams. She is currently ranked #2 in the GMC.
