Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Reagan Asman Sr. Girls' Swimming
Reagan has worked hard all year to be her best for the team. This weekend at the Princeton Invitational, Reagan posted another set of personal bests and is set to do well for the team at GMC's and sectionals. She is a National Honor Society student-athlete with a 4.0 GPA.
Seth Helmes Soph Boys' Swimming
Seth has become a key player on the swim and dive team. He continues to post improved times and takes on the toughest individual events, 200 IM and 500 Free. At the Princeton Invitational, he showed continued improvement and the team looks forward to seeing his performance in our GMC and Sectional competitions.
Chris Sheehan Soph Wrestling
Chris came up big for the Highlanders this weekend. He had two very crucial pins to help lead the Highlanders to a 41-31 victory over Anderson and a 48-29 victory over Badin. Way to compete Chris!
Jaylah Herzog Sr. Girls' Basketball
Jaylah, a senior forward and team captain, had a career-high double double of 18 points and 22 rebounds to lead the Highlanders in a win over Winton Woods. She followed that up with an 11 point, 8 rebound, 3 steal effort in a GMC win over Hamilton, then added 8 points and 6 rebounds in an overtime loss at Lakota East while recovering from being sick. She averaged a double-double for the week, with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She is now fifth in the GMC in rebounds with 8.4 per game and third in steals averaging 2.9 per contest.
Zach Taphorn Jr. Boys' Bowling
Zach has been working hard to improve his game and has been a big part of the teams' success this season. In the last 8 games, he is nearly averaging 194. Outside of bowling, Zach was recently sworn into the Army National Guard.
Nathan Sexton Sr. Boys' Bowling
Nathan has been a big part of the boy's team success this season not only by his scores but also by his team leadership. Nathan is currently 7th in the GMC averaging 205.1 Nathan also finished 4th at Queen City Classic making the all-tournament team averaging 229.5 .
RJ Linenkugel Jr. Boys' Basketball
RJ recently contributed 10 points (3-3 from the field and 3-3 from the FT line) and 6 rebounds in a tough GMC loss against Princeton. RJ is a multi-sport athlete (soccer), volunteers for community service and has a 3.91 GPA.
