Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Anna Shattuck       Girls' Bowling            Fr
Freshman Anna Shattuck wrapped up the 2024-2025 season with a very solid performance at the Districts tournament. Anna led the Varsity A team with a series of 486, including a very nice game of 210. In her first year on the team, Anna finished in the GMC top 10, earning a spot on the first team all conference!
 
Mary Bacon           Girls' Bowling                     Fr.
Mary Bacon had a very good performance at the Districts tournament on the 28th. Mary was 2nd overall for the team on the day, rolling a series of 456 for an average of 152 pins per game on the day. Mary had a very good first year as a member of the Varsity A girls bowling team, finishing 26th in the conference and earning the Steve Shuck Sportsmanship award for 2025!
 
Tanner Iles            Boys' Bowling                         Sr.
Tanner rolled a 739 series at OHSAA districts including a perfect 300 game to help the boys finish 4th overall and qualify for the state tournament. Tanner was also named the GMC bowler of the year for a second straight season and is currently holding a 223.9 average overall
 
Gavin Johnson      Boys' Bowling                       Jr.
 Gavin rolled a 615 series at OHSAA districts to help the boys finish 4th and qualify for state for the 3rd time in 4 years. Gavin was also named second team all conference in the GMC this season.
 
Abby Miceli        Academic Team                 Soph
Abby had a very strong year on our JV team.  It was evident that Abby spent a lot of time in the off season preparing and studying.  Her intelligence and quick thinking are an asset to our team!
 
Max Rhodes     Basketball                          Jr.
Max had an excellent second half of the season and especially helped defensively and as a ball handler. He also contributed some scoring as he started to feel more comfortable as a scorer. He is a multi-sport athlete (Football/Basketball) and an excellent student with a 4.0 GPA.
