Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Chazz Tallarigo               Boys' Wrestling                       Sr.
Chazz finished first at our sectionals and qualified for Districts.
 
Brady Singler               Boys' Wrestling                       Sr.
Brady finished first at our sectionals and qualified for Districts.
 
Emma Brunner                   Girls' Bowling                          Sr.
Senior Emma Brunner had an outstanding day at the Girls Bowling Sectionals Tournament on February 20th! Emma rolled games of 199, 180, and 215 for a total series of 594; which was the 3rd highest series rolled at the tournament! This effort by Emma helped the Lady Highlanders finish in 3rd place overall, advancing to Districts this week!
 
Ella Weinmann                      Girls' Bowling                            Jr.
Junior Ella Weinmann had a very good day at the Girls Bowling Sectionals Tournament on February 20th. Ella improved each game, going from 159, to 173, and ending with a 193 for a total series of 525 pins for the day. This was the 7th highest individual series for the tournament. Ella's performance helped the Lady Highlanders finish in 3rd place overall, advancing to Districts this week!

Serena was one of the five players last week that helped out the Varsity by simulating our tournament opponent! She did a tremendous job getting the girls ready for the game by working hard every single practice!

Karlee was one of the five players last week that helped out the Varsity by simulating our tournament opponent! She did a tremendous job getting the girls ready for the game by working hard every single practice!
 
Ella Doyle                              Girls' Basketball                                  Jr.
Ella was one of the five players last week that helped out the Varsity by simulating our tournament opponent! She did a tremendous job getting the girls ready for the game by working hard every single practice!

Lena Murphy                               Girls' Basketball                                      Fr.
Lena was one of the five players last week that helped out the Varsity by simulating our tournament opponent! She did a tremendous job getting the girls ready for the game by working hard every single practice!
 
Petros Vidas                      Academic Team                                Soph
Petros had a great season for the Academic Quiz Team.  He was one of the top players on the team and one of the top players in the conference in regards to geography questions.  Petros is also one of the top ranked students in the sophomore class!
 
Jett Sloan                          Boys' Swimming                              Soph
This past weekend, Jett competed in the State swim meet in Canton.  He was seeded 18th in the 50 Freestyle and 20th in the 100 Freestyle.  Jett finished 20th in the 50 with a time of 21.62.  He qualified for Finals in the 100 at 14th place with a time of 47.07 and finished 13th in the state with a personal best time of 46.92.  Way to go, Jett!!!  We are so proud of you and your accomplishments!
 
Zoe Wuerdeman                  Girls' Swimming                              Sr.
Zoe entered the OHSAA State Swim and Dive Championships in Canton seeded 26th. After a strong start, Zoe climbed her way all the way to the Finals scoring 30+ points on eight of her eleven dives and surpassing 40 points on two of her dives. She finished in 16th place, ten spots ahead of her seeding and helping put the Oak Hills Swim and Dive team on the board for team totals. She finishes her high school diving career as a two time state qualifier and now state finalist.
 
Wil Kraus                          Boys' Basketball                         Jr.
Wil is a multi sport athlete (Baseball/Basketball) who is a fierce competitor. He willingly guards the best offensive player on our opponent's team. He has been a tremendous and unselfish teammate all year. As a junior, Wil has committed to play Division I Baseball at Wright State University. And he is an excellent student with a 4.425 GPA.
