Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Anna Shattuck            Girls' Bowling      Fr
Freshman Anna Shattuck made the final week of regular season bowling her best week of the season! Over the 2 matches and tournament, Anna rolled an average of 168 pins per game, more than 11 pins higher than her total season average. At the Conference Clash, Anna rolled the 5th highest series of the tournament, a very nice 476! Anna's performance helped propel the Varsity A team to remain undefeated in the GMC, securing the conference title for the year!
 
Caylee Perkins        Girls' Wrestling                Sr.
Kaylee took 1st place at the Power 10 invitational. Also helping lead Oak Hills to a runner up finish.
 
Chris Chen        Academic Team           Soph
Chris has been a great contributor on our Varsity team this season as a sophomore.  Chris has the ability to think very quickly and complete difficult math equations in only a few seconds.  Chris started off the winter season as an All-Conference Chess player and has continued the season as one of the top players on the Academic Quiz Team!
 
Emery Charles        Girls' Swimming            Sr.
Emery is a Senior who just completed her final season with the team.  This weekend, Emery competed at the Southwest District Meet and finished 19th in the 50 Freestyle with a personal best time of 25.13 and 25th in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.51.  Emery was also a member of the 200 Medley Relay that finished 18th with a time of 1:57.43 and the 200 Freestyle Relay that finished 18th with a time of 1:46.42.  The team will miss Emery very much but wish her nothing but the best in her future!  Congratulations and Good luck, Emery!
 
Jett Sloan     Boys' Swimming         Soph
Jett is a Sophomore on the swim team and still has one more competition to go.  Jett swam at the Southwest District Meet last weekend and finished 8th in the 50 Freestyle with a personal best time of 21.46 and 12th in the 100 Freestyle with another personal best time of 47.28.  He was, also, a member of the 200 Medley Relay that finished 15th with a time of 1:43.29 and the 200 Freestyle Relay that finished 14th with a time of 1:32.07.  Jett has qualified to move on to the State Meet this weekend by placing 18th in the 50 Freestyle and 20th in the 100 Freestyle.  Congratulations and Good Luck at State, Jett!!
 
Brady Keeton     Boys' Basketball                Sr.
Brady has been a great teammate and a quiet contributor all season. Brady is an excellent shooter, making his open shot opportunities and has greatly improved his defensive efforts. He is an excellent student with a 4.25 GPA and also is a multi-sport athlete (Basketball / Baseball).
