Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Gigi Myers Academic Team Sr.
Gigi Myers has done a great job this season on the Academic Quiz Team. She also led a school wide effort to raise money for pediatric cancer research through Cancer Free Kids which led to 6 teachers getting a pie in the face!
Zoe Weurdeman Girls' Diving Sr.
Zoe scored 224.65 at the district wide senior day held at West Clermont High School. This helped her take home 3rd place on a very special day for all seniors and their families. This was a great tune-up, as the regular season comes to an end and Zoe sets her sights on qualifying for the state tournament in Canton for the second time.
Erin Henebry Girls' Swimming Sr.
Erin is in her final season on the swim team and has accomplished many great things during her career. Erin became a distance swimmer during her Sophomore season and began competing in the 200 and 500 Freestyle. This past weekend at GMC's, she recorded her fastest 200 Free time with a 2:26.80 and her fastest 500 Free time this season with a 6:35.17. Good luck at Sectionals this weekend!
Colin Klaserner Boys' Swimming Jr.
Colin is a Junior on the swim team and has been improving on his times throughout the season. This weekend at GMC's he recorded his best times in the 50 Free with a 23.52 and the 100 Free with a 52.61. Colin is also a member of the Boys 200 Medley Relay that tied for 5th and 200 Free Relay that finished 6th in the conference. We look forward to seeing what Colin can do this weekend at Sectionals. Anna Shattuck Girls' Bowling Fr.
Freshman Anna Shattuck has made a big impact on the Girls Bowling team in her first year! Anna is currently 13th in the GMC with an average of 153.8 pins per game. She is 1 of only 2 Freshmen who appear in the GMC top 15 female bowlers! This past week, Anna helped lead the Varsity A team to their win over Harrison with a series of 329. Anna also rolled the 5th highest series for the West division of the East vs. West Showdown with a 472!
Max Hoeting Boys' Bowling Fr.
This is Max's first season on the bowling team and in the few months apart of the team he has improved greatly. He has improved his average over 15 pins since the beginning of the season and has been a core member of the boys JV team.
Aiden Messer Boys' Bowling Fr.
Aiden is also a first year member of the boys bowling team, he continues to get better every week and has become a solid member of the team. Aiden also is a great teammate and encourages his teammates even if he is not bowling.
Henry Maginn Boys' Basketball Sr.
Henry is a captain and the hardest working player in our program. He spent countless hours improving his skills. Over the past week, Henry had 23 points, 15 assists, 8 rebounds, and 7 steals. Henry also owns a 421 GPA.
