Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Brady Keeton                 Boys' Basketball                   Sr.
Brady is a multi-sport (Baseball-Basketball) athlete who helped Oak Hills win the their first game against Withrow. He was 6-10 (6-9 from the 3 point line), had 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Brady works hard to improve and is a great teammate. Also he is a member of SALT (Student Athlete Leadership Team), participates in community service and holds a 4.23 GPA.
 
Benjamin Wood         Boys' Swimming            Jr.
Ben is a junior on the Boys Swim Team and is already working hard during practices in and out of the water. His dedication is evident in his workouts and he is looking to make major improvements in his personal best times and stroke work. We look forward to watching Ben grow, improve, and help lead the younger swimmers do the same. Good luck, Ben!
 
Allisa VanDulman      Girls' Swimming      Fr.
Allison is a Freshman and new member of the Girls Swim Team. She has been working extremely hard during her first month of training and we are so excited to see her in her first race! Her hard work and dedication to her workouts, her teammates, and her strength training will help her become a true competitor on this team. While achieving a 3.8 GPA, Allison is able to continue to focus on her studies and sports at the same time. Good luck this year, Allison! 
 
Layla Maness              Girls' Bowling                 Sr.               
Senior Layla Maness is starting off her Senior year on the girls bowling team strong! In the first match of the season, Layla averaged almost 160 pins per game; 30 pins higher than her average at the end of the 2023-2024 season! This performance earned her a nomination in the Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Athlete of the Week Poll where she earned the 3rd highest number of votes. Layla currently holds the 4th highest average in the GMC. 
 
Emma Laake               Academic Team              Soph              
Emma Laake has been a positive leader on the Academic Quiz Team. Emma has worked hard and has consistently proven to be an asset to our team.
 
Jaeleigh Frey       Girls' Basketball        Soph
Jaeleigh came off the bench to score 8 points and grab 2 rebounds against Lakota East.  Her desire to continuously improve makes herself and the rest of the team better every day.
