Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Chris Chen Chess Soph.
Chris is 7-2 on the season and went 2-0 this week. He is 2000 rated and has played mostly board one and two this year (playing the best players at other schools).
Charles Elam Academic Team Soph.
Charles has worked hard to prepare for the upcoming season, attending optional study sessions, and being a positive leader on our team. Charles has been a leader at the district level as he volunteers his time as part of our district's Student AI Advisory Team.
Anna Shattuck Girls' Bowling Fr.
Freshman Anna Shattuck had an outstanding debut week as a member of the Girls Varsity A Bowling Team! Over the two matches, Anna earned an average score of 155.3 pins per game, which is currently the 6th highest average in the GMC! Anna also rolled an outstanding game of 198 in her first match, which is currently the 2nd highest in the GMC.
Davide Zinoli Boys' Swimming Sr.
Davide is a student from Italy that has joined the swim team during his Senior year at Oak Hills. He has become a wonderful teammate and is willing to do anything you ask of him. Davide is working hard on improving his stroke techniques and is ready to compete in his first meet. We are looking forward to watching Davide grow throughout the season and excel to achieving as many personal bests as possible. Good luck, Davide!
Ali VanDulman Girls' Swimming Fr.
Ali is a Freshman joining the swim team and is looking to improve on all of her skills and times this year. She is an extremely hard worker and is becoming more focused on her dedication to becoming better in the water. Ali's work ethic proves that she will have a positive year on the team in any event she competes in this season. Good luck, Ali!
Brady Wergers Boys' Basketball Jr.
Brady is a multi-sport athlete (Boys' Soccer/Boys' Basketball) who exemplifies a hard working, high character young man. He makes "winning plays" on the court and on the soccer field. Most important though, he is a winner off the court. He has a 3.53 GPA and attends Diamond Oaks enrolled in the Commercial and Residential Electrical program.
Nyla Richardson Girls' Basketball Senior
Nyla helped the Lady Scots start the season with a victory over Mercy McAuley. Nyla went a perfect 5-5 for 12 points to lead the team. Nyla has taken a larger leadership role as a senior this year.
