Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Serena Roberts                          Girls' Basketball                               Jr
Serena had a great offseason, where she showed dedication and hard work to continuously improve her game. Serena takes multiple AP and Honors level classes, has a 4.53 GPA and ranks in the Top 50 of the junior class!
 
Sam Korn        Boys' Basketball                         Sr.
Sam had an excellent off season. He worked extremely hard on his game, improving his skills greatly. He is a committed, unselfish teammate. He started a Power washing business this past summer and he worked in the summer camp and summer league. Sam is a member of NHS with a 4.435 GPA ranking him in the top 15% of his class.
 
Wyatt Caito                     Boys' Swimming                             Jr.
Wyatt is a Junior in his first year on the swim team. He is an extremely hard worker and already exhibits an incredible work ethic in and out of the pool. Wyatt is willing to learn new techniques and try to become better every day. We look forward to watching Wyatt compete in his first meet and continue his growth throughout the season.  
 
Emma Brunner                   Girls' Bowling                                  Sr.
Senior Emma Brunner is ready to kick off the 2024-2025 bowling season, and has not slowed down since the 2023-2024 season ended. Emma continued to bowl over the spring and summer in every opportunity available to ensure she'd be ready for this season. Emma finished the 2023-2024 season, 9th overall in the GMC, making the 1st team all conference with an average of 158.7 pins per game. Emma has her sights set on a top 5 GMC finish for her senior year.
 
Aiden Snow         Academic Team                  Sr.
Aiden's enthusiasm and curiosity are contagious. He has attended every pre-season study session and participated with lots of questions and answers, helping our team improve.   
 
Ella Weinmann                        Girls' Bowling                          Jr.
Junior Ella Weinmann has stayed very busy in the off season since the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season. In addition to bowling in numerous leagues at Western Bowl and Stumps Lanes on the westside, Ella also participated in the summer travel league, rolling at various alleys across the Greater Cincinnati area. Ella looks to build off of her finish at the end of the last season. Ella finished the 2023-2024 season 17th overall in the GMC, second team all-conference, with an average of 150.6.
 
Sophie Busken            Girls' Swimming                      Soph
Sophie is a Sophomore in her second season on the team. Each practice, she spends a lot of time improving her strokes to become better in her individual events. While maintaining a 3.68 GPA, she is still able to work hard in the weight room, in dryland, and in the pool. Sophie looks to set new personal bests this season and continue to make a positive impact with the team.  
 
Alana Helton        Cheerleading                               Soph
Alana is a member of our varsity sideline and competition teams. This past weekend Alana helped lead both competition teams to victory at two competitions. She contributed to the teams’ successes as Grand Champions with her drive to execute stunts well and throw tumbling skills she’s been fighting to perfect.
