Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

 
Pearsyn Sweeney              Girls' Golf                       Sr
Pearsyn is kind, caring, smart & talented. She set a goal to become a varsity golfer & accomplished it by working hard & earning her spot. She goes out of her way to help others feel valuable on the course & in life. She's a reliable teammate who played in 11 of our matches/tournaments this season.
 
Owen Huff           Boys' Cross Country                    Fr.
Owen competed in his first Regional Championship on Saturday. He finished in 70th place. Owen had an amazing season, running a personal best of 16:03. This time is the fastest ever run by an Oak Hills freshman, ranks him #6 all time on the Oak Hills list, and among the top 10 freshman in the state.   
 
Anthony Young              Football                         Jr.
Anthony had 9 tackles (8 Solo) and two passes defended in Friday's game vs. Lakota East. He also returns kicks and punts for the football program. "AY" is also a three sport standout (Basketball & Baseball) and excels in the classroom with a 3.0 GPA.
 
Bailey Murphy                          Girls' Soccer                 Sr.
Bailey a senior defender, helped her team win its 2nd district title in school history last week. Bailey has played outside back all season but due to an injury, she played center back and helped the team win 6-0 over sycamore, which gave the highlanders its 14th consecutive shutout. Bailey has been a huge asset on the backline for the Highlanders.
