Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

 
Eric Dew                 Boys' Cross Country                   Sr.
Senior captain Eric Dew has been a defining member of our program. Understanding how to draw the line between work and play, never complaining, and leading by example are just some of the ways that Eric has helped to leave a positive mark on our team. Eric earned 2nd team All-GMC honors at the GMC championships on Saturday. This is the third time that Eric has earned All-GMC honors.
 
Connor Schneider      Football      Sr.
Connor got his first varsity start this weekend on the Offensive Line vs highly ranked Princeton. Connor is listed at 5'9 180 lbs but plays with a passion & heart twice that size. He was outstanding this week filling in for us at a new position, after coming over from the DL. Connor is ranked 37th in his class and carries an outstanding 4.72 GPA.  
 
Ryleigh Helms              Cheerleading                      Jr.
Ryleigh has proven to be an excellent addition to our varsity traditional competition team. Her determination to land new skills and improve every week has been recognized by our outside tumbling coaches. She is an extremely hard worker who leads by example both on and off the mat. In addition to the traditional competition team, Ryleigh is also a key member of our game day competition team, varsity sideline squad and plays lacrosse all while maintaining a 3.78 gpa.
 
Kayla Robinson     Girls' Volleyball     Sr.
Kayla led the team to a 1-1 week with a win against Fairfield and fought battles against Taylor. Kayla had 29 digs, 3 aces and 6 assists between the two matches. Kayla also broke a program record for most career digs with 1,034 digs and counting.   
 
Taylor Spille           Girls' Soccer                   Fr.
Taylor, a freshman forward for the Highlanders, scored 2 big goals on the road at Fairfield this past week. She got the game winning goal that helped the Highlanders secure their third GMC title in three years. Taylor has played up top and in the midfield making her very valuable in the team’s attack.
 
Skyler Kesterman            Boys' Soccer                 Soph
Skyler scored a goal in two consecutive games last week leading to a tie and a win. He netted the only goal in a 1-1 tie against Kings and his second came in a 2-0 win against Fairfield.
 
Bailey Sims-Sharpe      Boys' Soccer      Jr.
Bailey scored a goal in a 2-0 win against Fairfield. He controls and sets the pace of play through the midfield with his field awareness and high skill level.  
 
Eve Troutwine        Girls' Cross Country              Sr.
For the past four years, Eve has been an important part of the varsity team's success, consistently ranking among the top five runners. Her competitive spirit, strength and determination, has driven both her personal success and the team's achievements. This past weekend, Eve's impressive 22nd place finish at the GMC meet earned her Second Team All-League honors, contributing to her team's overall second-place finish. She is a versatile three-sport varsity athlete, excelling not only in cross country but also in track and swimming. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Eve is involved in her school community. She serves on the Executive Board of the National Honor Society (NHS) and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and is an integral part of the varsity singers and symphony orchestra. Her leadership roles in these organizations demonstrate her commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
 
Allyson Hassett     Girl's Cross Country    Soph
Allyson has shown remarkable consistency as the team's number 7 runner throughout the season. Her dedication and hard work paid off this past Saturday at the GMC League meet, where she achieved a personal best time and secured an impressive 27th place finish. This stellar performance earned her Second Team All-League honors and played a crucial role in helping her team secure a second-place finish overall. Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Allyson is also a dedicated student leader, serving as the Class of 2027 Secretary. She is an active member of the National Honor Society, highlighting her commitment to both academic success and community involvement.  Allyson has a 4.79 GPA.
