Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Renee Harper Girl's Tennis Fr.
Renee capped off the regular season with a GMC Championship at 1st singles, undefeated in GMC play and earned GMC player of the year. An outstanding accomplishment for our freshman! This achievement secured a 3rd place finish for the team this year.
Emma Tharp Girls' Volleyball Soph.
Emma helped the team accomplish a 5-0 week against West Clermont, Colerain, Middletown, Ross and Summit. She led the team with 60 kills, 42 digs, and 10 aces.
Joseph Getz Boys' Cross Country Soph
Joseph spent his freshman year as a JV athlete, but has been varsity for all of his sophomore year so far. His dependability and level headed approach to the challenges of cross country have helped him to find success. After a very muddy race at Centerville, Joseph clinched his spot on the 7 man varsity roster for the GMC championships. Joseph has a 4.5 GPA.
Mady Linenkugel Girls' Soccer Jr.
Mady, a Centerback for the Highlanders helped her team earn 2 shutout wins this past week. She also scored a goal and had two assists in the two games. Mady has helped her team earn 8 consecutive shutouts in a row and 11 total shutouts on the season. She anchors the backline, and has shut down some of the best forwards in the state this year.
Anthony Young Football Jr.
Anthony Young had 6 solo tackles, 1 forced fumble and two interceptions in a victory over Sycamore. Anthony Young also is a member of the baseball and basketball programs.
Max Supe Football Sr.
Max Supe, Oak Hills, Sr, QB – Racked up 336 yards of total offense (187 rush, 149 pass) and accounted for five touchdowns (three rush, two pass) as the Highlanders got past Sycamore. max also plays basketball and has a 4.71 GPA.
Samantha Getz Girls' Cross Country Soph
Sam placed 2nd out of 191 runners in the Varsity White race this past weekend at the Centerville Night Lights race. Running on an extremely muddy course in the pouring rain, she displayed grit and determination throughout the race. From the strong start to the finish line, Sam maintained her lead, never relinquishing her position. A multi-talented athlete, Sam competes in three varsity sports: Cross Country, Track, and Swimming. In addition to her athletic prowess, she serves as her class's Vice President, showcasing her leadership both on and off the field. Samantha has a 4.7 GPA.
Rachael Wunderlich Girls' Cross Country Jr.
Rachael placed 3rd out of 191 runners in the Varsity White race at the Centerville Night Lights event this past weekend. She ran with consistent strength throughout the race and made an impressive final push, passing a competitor in the last 50 meters. A dedicated teammate, Rachael goes out of her way to support and uplift her peers. She is a two-sport varsity athlete, competing in both Cross Country and Track. Rachel has earned a 4.3 GPA in high academic classes as well.
