Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Lauren Huster          Girls' Golf           Sr.
Lauren brings so much enjoyment to golf as she's friendly to everyone. Opponents request to golf with her! She encourages her teammates and finds the positive all around her! She had a chip-in from 20 yards in our recent tourney at The Vineyard. She's a senior taking a full load of honors, AP and CCP classes and has a history of excelling in all she does!

Audrey Schnorbus      Girls' Tennis     Soph.
Audrey helped the team pick up their first win of the year against Seton. She won the final court at 3rd singles in straight sets to secure the 3-2 victory. Audrey worked very hard this summer to improve her game and looks to continue helping the Highlanders compete in such a difficult city to play tennis in.

Ashlynn Huber                    Girls' Volleyball                    Jr.
Ashlyn stepped up this week with 9 kills against Milford to help the team bring home the win in our first match! She's also involved off the court as well as participating in ASL Club, Baking Club, Young Life, ASL Honor Society all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Maryssa Kuhr     Girls' Soccer      Sr.
Maryssa, a defensive midfielder, helped the Highlanders earn a key shutout in their opening win against West Clermont. She also scored a goal off of a direct free kick in that same game. Maryssa has done an excellent job being an anchor in the midfield, playing great defense and distributing the ball to get attacks started.

Beckham Shorten                 Boys' Golf                     Sr.
Senior Beckham Shorten shoots 77 & 78 last week to help the Highlanders secure 2 match play victories against Colerain & Hamilton.

Brady Wergers                      Boys' Soccer                      Jr.
Brady was a consistent force of the defense that allowed only five shots and helped record Oak Hills first clean sheet of the season. His consistency in positioning, winning tackles, staying patient on the ball, and winning balls in the air provided a strong defense in a 0-0 tie against Loveland. Brady has a 3.53 GPA.

Collin Wilson      Boys' Soccer     Jr.
Collin helped lead Oak Hills to their first shutout of the season in a 0-0 tie against Loveland in their opener. Not only did he defend well, but when moved to forward for a short stint, he generated three good looks on goal but was unable to capitalize. Overall, he played solid on both sides of the ball.

Aleah Coster                  Girls' Cross Country                        Soph
Aleah is a dual fall sport varsity athlete competing in both Cross Country and Soccer. She played in her first varsity soccer game on Friday night and then ran in her first Cross Country meet of the season running in a very competitive OHSAA Preseason meet in Columbus early on Saturday morning. Aleah was the top Oak Hills finisher placing 23rd out of 275 athletes running a time of 19:59. She has earned a 4.31 GPA in her academic work.
