Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Leni Sillivan Girls' Track Jr
Leni is a 3 year varsity track athlete. She competed in three events at the District Championships. She placed 4th in the 4x800 relay qualifying to the Regional Championships. She placed 6th in the 400 meters running a season's best time. She was also apart of the 7th place 4x400 relay team. Leni had the fastest 400 meter time on the team this season and the third fastest 800 meter time. Leni is also an outstanding leader and a great team supporter.
Mandy Gehring Girls' Track Soph
Mandy is a two-time GMC Field Athlete of the year. This year at the GMC meet, Mandy won the high jump and placed 4th in the long jump. At the District Championship meet she placed 3rd in high jump and 4th in long jump to qualify in both events for the Regional Championship meet. At Regionals last week, she placed 3rd in high jump, jumping a personal best of 5 feet 3 inches qualifying to the State Championship meet.
E. J. Schneider Boys' Track Sr
EJ is a 3 year varsity track athlete. He earned 2nd team All GMC honors this year in the 4x800. He was a part of the 4x800 relay District Champion team. In his track career he is a three time Regional qualifier in the 4x800 relay. He is a member of the 4x800 relay team school record team. EJ has been an important team leader and role model for the team the past three seasons. EJ graduated with a 4.0 GPA and ranked in the top 10% of his class. EJ will continue his Cross Country and Track career at Northern Kentucky University where he will be majoring in biochemistry.
Brayden Holland Boys' Track Sr.
Brayden is a 4 year varsity track athlete. This season Brayden has earned First Team All GMC honors in the 400 meters and 2nd Team All GMC honors in the 4x800 and the 4x400. He is a 3 event District Champion this year winning the 400 meters, the 4x800 and the 4x400. He qualified to the Regional meet in those three events along with the 4x200. He holds 3 school records - 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800. In his track career, he is a 12 time Regional qualifier. At the Regional Championship meet last Friday, he placed 4th in the 400 meters qualifying to the State Championship meet. He will continue his Track career at Northern Kentucky University.
Jeremiah Triggs Boys' Track Sr.
Jeremiah placed 6th in high jump on Friday at the regional championships, with a personal best of 6,3", narrowly missing qualification to the state championship. He placed 2nd at the district championships the week before to earn his spot at regionals. This was only Jeremiah's first season as a track and field athlete. He will be continuing his football career at Thomas Moore this fall.
