Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Ava Childs            Girls' Lacrosse                     Jr.
Ava is an outstanding asset on our team, as she contributed 2 goals in our win against Roger Bacon on Tuesday. She is a great leader on our team, and she has improved greatly this season behind the goal. She is an amazing academic and is already beginning her path of education for the medical field.

Demar Parker          Boys' Track                       Sr.
Demar is closing in on the end of a successful 4 year track & field career. He has consistently competed in all of the sprint races, and is one of Oak Hills' top guys in all three of them. So far this season he has been part of school records in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. Most recently, Demar was part of the 5th place 4x100 and 2nd place 4x400 at the GMC Championships.

Kami Dalton   Girls' Track                              Sr.
Kami is Oak Hills' top discus thrower. At the GMC Championships, she threw 10 foot personal best to earn her way into discus finals. This throw also places Kami at #7 on the top 10 all time list for Oak Hills.

Kyla Begley        Girls' Track         Jr.
Kyla stepped in as a substitute on the Oak Hills 4x200 relay at the GMC Championships this week. She ran an excellent leg and helped the team to a 5th place finish. Kyla also ran a personal best on the 4x400 relays team that placed 6th.

Payton Veneman      Softball      Soph.
Payton had a big role this season sharing pitching duties and hitting in the 3 hole in the DP spot. Payton brought in 7 wins for the Highlanders this season while driving in 31 RBIs. Payton also clenched her first two career home runs the second half of the season. She has a 3.45 GPA.

Annaliese Szabo          Softball                 Soph
Annaliese split the pitching load throwing 78 innings for the Highlanders bringing home 7 wins while racking up 83 strikeouts. Annaliese added her first career save this season as well. We look forward to the impact Annaliese will have on this program next season. She also has a 4.0 GPA.

Sasha Emmerich          Softball            Fr.
As the sole freshman on the varsity squad Sasha held the utility role down as well as any upperclassman. Sasha caught for the Highlanders as well as played 1st and 3rd to help the Highlanders find their way through a rigorous season battling inexperience. Sasha also provided a large offensive punch by adding 9 doubles, 6 home runs, and 23 rbis for the Highlanders. Sasha was a part of 109 put outs this season.  She also has a 3.86 GPA.

Wil Kraus     Baseball             Soph.
Wil is a three sport student-athlete playing football, basketball and baseball while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in AP and honors classes. In our last three games, Wil accumulated 6 hits (.545 avg), scored 5 runs and had 2 RBIs. He is second in the GMC with an overall batting average of .378.

Brandon Stidham      Baseball      Sr.
Brandon is a three sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball taking AP and honors classes. In our last 3 games, Brandon accumulated 6 hits (.545 avg), scored 2 runs, and had 7 RBIs. He is currently tied for 3rd in the GMC with a batting average of .373. Brandon is also in 4th place in the GMC for overall RBIs.

Morgan White        Boys' Lacrosse              Sr.
Morgan had an outstanding achievement this past weekend. In our final regular season game he eclipsed the 400 save mark on his career. As a 2 year starter who has split time throughout those 2 years this is an extraordinary accomplishment and we are very proud of him.

Kaden Gnoose     Boys' Lacrosse       Soph
Kaden has been rotating as a starter for us the last few weeks of the season. On Saturday he recorded his first Varsity goal as a close defenseman. Kaden is only a sophomore and has contributed a lot on the field in his short time as a starter.
