Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Wil Kraus Baseball Sophomore
Wil is a three sport student-athlete playing football, basketball and baseball while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in AP and honors classes. He is a strong leader and our starting shortstop with a 1.00 fielding percentage. In our last three games, Wil accumulated 4 hits, had 3 stolen bases, scored 3 runs and had 2 RBIs. Wil currently leads the GMC with a batting average of .667 and has an on base percentage of .769.
Brandon Stidham Baseball Senior
Brandon is a three sport student-athlete playing football, basketball and baseball taking AP and honors classes. He is a second year varsity starter at first base. In our last 3 games, Brandon accumulated 4 hits including 3 doubles, scored 6 runs, and had 4 RBIs. He is currently 6th in the GMC with a batting average of .500 and has an on base percentage of .615. Brandon is also tied for 7th place in the GMC for overall RBIs.
Alex See Girls' Lacrosse Freshman
Alex worked hard last week during spring break to prepare for this week's games. As a freshman, we are very excited to see Alex debut in her first high school games. She always shows up with a positive attitude, and she works 110% no matter what we ask! We can't wait to watch her grow and develop with the season in full swing!
Mandy Gehring Girls' Track & Field Sophomore
Mandy had a fantastic performance at the Ross All-Comers Meet last week, winning all three of the events she competed in. She was part of the 1st place 4x100 relay and was the top performer in high jump and long jump. Long jump might be Mandy's best event, based on her All-State finish in the event last season. She is also the top point scorer on the girls team so far this season.
Ryan Linenkugel Boys' Track & Field Junior
Ryan raced to first place finishes in the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles last week at the Ross All-Comers Meet. Despite the cold weather, he managed lifetime bests in both events. Ryan is also a talented long jumper and placed 5th in the event. He has the range to compete in just about any event in track & field and is one of the fastest guys on all of Oak Hills' sprint relay teams.
Morgan White Boys' Lacrosse Senior
Morgan had 38 saves in his goalie position last week and led the Highlanders to a 2-1 record over break.
Lucas Geiger Boys' Tennis Junior
Lucas won in straight sets against Harrison securing the team win as well as in our opening match.
