Cameron Suter: Illustration and Concept Artist
The OHHS National Art Honor Society recently hosted class of 2014 alumni, Cameron Suter, to speak at this year’s 1st Creative Canvassing event.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Certificate in Game Art Design from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). Cameron works full-time as an illustrator, offering freelance services in illustration and concept art design as well as mentorship programs. All of his work is proudly AI-free.
In his presentation, Cameron focused on discussing his passion and evolution as an artist from childhood through adulthood as well as his creative process. Throughout the event, students were encouraged to discover their Ikigai. Ikigai is a Japanese word that means “a reason for being” or “life purpose” and is a philosophical concept that refers to what gives a person a sense of purpose in life, and is derived from the words “iki” which means “alive” and “gai” which means “worth”. The concept is based on the idea of finding your purpose by exploring the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.
The OHHS Art and Design Department and NAHS would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cameron for donating his time and expertise inspiring the next generation of artists in our district.
