As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and security of our students, staff, and schools, we will be conducting a safety drill at Oak Hills High School in partnership with local law enforcement on October 14, 2024. This drill is designed to ensure that all members of our school community are well-prepared in the event of an emergency.
Details about the Drill
- Date and Time: The safety drill will take place on October 14, 2024 (OHLSD staff in-service day with no students). School personnel and local law enforcement agencies will be at Oak Hills High School throughout the day until approximately 3:00 p.m.
- Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Local law enforcement officials will be on-site to assist in executing the drill. Their presence is part of our effort to create a realistic scenario and to improve our emergency response protocols.
- No Cause for Alarm: Please be assured that this is only a drill. There is no actual emergency.
- Community Awareness: You may notice an increased presence of law enforcement vehicles around Oak Hills High School on October 14th. This is a planned part of the exercise and does not indicate an actual emergency.
- Purpose of the Drill: The goal of this drill is to ensure that our schools are prepared for emergency situations and to improve coordination with local law enforcement. Regular practice helps us identify areas for improvement and ensures that our schools remain safe environments for learning.
