Attendance

Please notify the school as early as possible to report your child’s absence, late arrival or early dismissal. Attendance can only be communicated by a parent or guardian, regardless of the student’s age.

HOW TO REPORT AN ABSENCE
Contact the Attendance Line at Bridgetown Middle School by calling 513-574-3511, then press 1.

ABSENCE
When you report an absence, please provide your name and relationship to the student, the student’s name, grade, and the reason for the absence. An absence with no reason will be coded as unexcused.

PROGRESS BOOK
Parents/guardians may seek updates about their child’s attendance in Progress Book.

EARLY DISMISSAL
Always send a note with the student on the morning of the early dismissal. The note for early dismissal needs to contain the student’s name, grade, date, time of early dismissal, reason for leaving, phone number of the parent/guardian signing the note, and parent/guardian signature.

Elementary students: Parent/Guardian must enter the building to sign the student out for the early dismissal.

LATE ARRIVALS

Please call the absence line if your student will be arriving late to school. Students arriving late to school do not need a parent to accompany them to the office to sign in but are required to provide a note. The note should contain the student’s name, grade, the reason for the late arrival, and parent/guardian signature. Students will be issued a pass admitting them to class when they check in with the main office.

TARDINESS
Any student who reports to school after the start of school time, is considered tardy. Students must report to the main office to sign in and receive a pass to class.

AUTOMATED ATTENDANCE CALLS
We use One Call Now to alert you of your child’s unexcused absence from school. This automated system helps expedite our daily process for absence notifications and uses the same parent/guardian phone number and email address you provided to the school.

If your child is marked absent and you have not reported the absence within 120 minutes of the start of school, you will receive a call, text and/or email. To respond to the automated call, you will need to call the main office. Failure to report the reason will result in an unexcused absence.

EXCESSIVE ABSENCES OR TARDIES
Parents will be notified if their student has reached the maximum number of tardies and/or absences. After a student has accumulated ten absences per year (excluding those verified by a doctor’s note) a physician's note will be required for an excused absence.
