Rapid Run Middle School Policies
The policies of Rapid Run Middle school are designed to be both specific to Rapid Run and yet remain within the policies established by the School Board for the entire Oak Hills Local Schools District. The following section contains the polices developed for Rapid Run and links to the District policies where appropriate.
Students are not permitted to carry any medication (prescription or over the counter) on their person. All medicine that a student is required to take during the school day MUST be taken to the clinic by the parent/guardian. Prescription medicine must be in its original container and accompanied by the completed proper forms, which can be obtained through the clinic. These forms are:
1. Physician’s request for the administration of prescriptions.
2. Parental authorization and release.
Failure to follow this policy could result in a ten-day suspension with a recommendation to the superintendent for expulsion.
RRMS Tardy Policy
Per Oak Hills Local School Board Policy, a doctor’s note is required for any absence over 10 days in one school year. If a student misses more than 10 days of school, a 10-day notice will be mailed home.
Classroom instruction is interrupted when students enter after 7:35 a.m. To counteract this problem, the RRMS faculty will hold to the following policy regarding tardy students.
5 tardies = conference with student
6 tardies = first letter sent home
7 tardies = telephone call to parents/guardian
10 tardies = conference with student and parent/guardian
12 tardies = second letter/telephone call to parent/guardian
13 tardies = referral to hamilton County Juvenile Court
*The only tardy that will not count against a student is if the student provides a doctor’s note when they arrive to school.
We appreciate your support emphasizing the importance that your child is on time for school.
