The purpose of our program is to provide a learning environment for children of all ability levels. Our programs enroll typically developing children, ages three to five, from the community. To be eligible for the preschool program, students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) must be a resident of the Oak Hills Local School District. These children are chosen through the application process and a monthly fee for the program is assessed. The application process begins in February of the year prior to the next academic school year. We accept applications year round. Placement is contingent upon the amount of spaces available in the program. The Early Childhood Preschool Classes are multi age classes that encompass up 12-16 children. Classes are inclusive and include children with and without disabilities.
Each preschool classroom has a licensed teacher, with a minimum of a four year degree, and an instructional assistant. The program is in session Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and follows the district’s academic calendar beginning in September. The Early Childhood Preschool Program is guided by The State of Ohio Early Learning Content Standards. The standards address skills in math, language arts, science and social studies. Creative Curriculum, which was adopted in the spring of of 2007, looks at the whole child: the social emotional, physical, cognitive, and language-centered areas of development. Our programs provide developmentally appropriate as well as challenging activities that children can use to enhance and develop higher level skills.
PRESCHOOL APPLICATIONS
We are now accepting typical preschool applications for The Oak Hills Local School District Early Childhood Program. The program is available to children ages 3-5 who reside in the Oak Hills School District. Classes are 2.5 hours per day, 4 days a week at Dulles Elementary School.
Programs are located at J.F. Dulles Elementary and Delshire Elementary School.
