How To…

To Report an Absence

Promptly call the ABSENCE LINE at 347-2970, press 2, press 7 for Delhi Middle School. When the school is not notified of an absence it will result in an unexcused/truant absence. Notes are accepted the day following the absence.

Per Oak Hills Local School Board Policy, a doctor’s note is required for any absence over 10 days in one school year. If a student misses more than 10 days of school, a 10-day notice will be mailed home.

Classroom instruction is interrupted when students enter after 7:35 a.m. To counteract this problem, the DMS faculty will hold to the following policy regarding tardy students.

5 tardies = SRO conference with student
6 tardies = first letter sent home
10 tardies = SRO conference with student and parent/guardian
12 tardies = second letter
13 tardies = consider referral to Hamilton County Juvenile Court

15 tardies = Tuesday/Thursday school (additional assignment will be given at 20, 25, 30, etc)

*The only tardy that will not count against a student is if the student provides a doctor’s note when they arrive to school.

We appreciate your support emphasizing the importance that your child is on time for school.
