Safety Village

Safety Village is a comprehensive safety program for 5-year old children who will be entering kindergarten this fall. The children learn about safety in traffic, in the home, on the playground, in an automobile, on a bus, around poisons, fire, water, and strangers.

The 2-week, 20 hours safety program is taught by certified teachers, police and fire officers, and Girl Scouts. Each day the children spend time in the classroom and learn through games, arts and crafts activities, field trip, music, films, video tapes and role-playing. They also spend time on a school playground that includes sidewalks, streets, a traffic signal and road signs around which the children maneuver small, battery powered vehicles.

New class at OHHS – Aqua Zumba!

Known as the Zumba® “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.
