National Junior Honor Society – Mrs. Dierkers & Mrs. Egbers
NJHS is an 8th grade club that is designed of extremely motivated and very caring individuals. You must be invited to join this group. In April of each year, 7th graders with who are strong in academic, leadership, and service skills are invited to apply for a position in NJHS. NJHS does a lot of service projects in our school and in our community.
Chamber Strings Club – Mrs. Power
Chamber Strings is an after school club open to 8th grade strings students (Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass) for whom there is no curricular course offered at BMS. Interested students will be grouped into small ensembles and perform at instrumental music concerts as trios, quartets, or other small groupings. Students are highly encouraged to take private lessons to be successful in this club. Students are expected to study and practice their music outside of rehearsal, come prepared to collaborate with their peers to engage in musical problem solving and improve skills for future participation in the Oak Hills High School Orchestra Program
STAR CATS – Mrs. Kramer
This program provides students the opportunity to interact socially with positive peer role models. Students are recommended for this program to be mentors or mentees. The main goal of the program is to guide students in the right direction and help them have a sense of belonging at BMS.
Student Council – Mrs. McKnight & Mrs. Linenkugel
Do you want to be a leader in the school? Are you interested in helping with important day-to-day topics? Help out with Pep Assemblies, choose themes for spirit days, run Penny Wars, and organize Candy Grams! This club begins in September so you must complete the application and if chosen our club meets all year!
Yearbook Staff – Ms. Lingo
Do you like taking photographs? Do you like working on a computer? Do you find it important to document our events throughout the year? Yearbook Club photographs and designs the layout for the BMS annual yearbook. Students who are interested must apply and be accepted. We will meet all year!
Adobe Photoshop Club – Mrs. Linenkugel
Students who are interested in Art and into computers will love this club! The Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 program is in the Media Center at BMS and available to all students who are creative, patient and willing to learn new things. We will create graphic art work and you will be able to print color versions of your creations! We will also explore with Scratch and other Google apps.
Art Club – Mrs. Linenkugel
Art Club will meet twice a month on Tuesdays. The club is for anyone with a sincere interest and enthusiasm for art. This year will have field trips and guest speakers. Our format will work more as a workshop, where each month a different style, media, technique or process will be offered. Students must sign up in advance for the workshops. Topics may include jewelry, wheel-thrown pottery, comics, and calligraphy. All grade levels are welcome!
Newberry Book Club – Mrs. Heyl

BMS Annual Musical – Mrs. Metz and Mrs. Sweatman
Each year, BMS presents a musical distributed by Broadway Junior. This year we are performing “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” You must audition for this group and it is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. If you like to sing, dance, and act… consider auditioning for the school musical in December.
World Language Club – Frau and Señora
This is a club open to all eighth graders taking a foreign language. This club usually meets each quarter to celebrate traditions of the German and Spanish speaking countries.
Destination Imagination – Mrs. Dierkers
Are you looking for a fun an exciting way to challenge yourself and to work with a team of your friends at the same time? If so, Destination Imagination is for you! Destination Imagination is all about performing, engineering, building, and the arts all in one club. Members of Destination Imagination will choose one creative challenge of their choice to brainstorm, solve, and perform their solutions at a regional Destination Imagination conference. Model Cars Club – Mr. Brown
Enjoy the hobby of model building by creating the car of your dreams. You will learn strategies and techniques that will help you build a realistic-looking car or truck. Topics will include paint, gluing, and detailing 1/25 scale models. First time model builders and experienced builders are welcome! Students will be responsible for purchasing a model kit, glue, paint (if applicable), and a hobby knife. This club will meet in the winter.
Model UN Club – Mrs. Perry
Bridgetown Middle School’s Model UN is a group of students with an interest in the world. Students will be assigned to a country at the beginning of the academic year to research and get to know; then, the students will adopt this country and lobby for its best interest through authentic simulation of the United Nations system. Conferences will be held at BMS during Model UN meetings, in which students will present resolutions to international issues involving human rights and/or current events, engage in a debate, and vote on whether or not to adopt the resolution.
