Rapid Run Middle School Sixth Graders Adventures in Leadership Day

On Thursday, September 27, Rapid Run Middle School sixth grade students had ‘Adventures in Leadership’ day. The program was conducted by “Vehicle for Change,” a non-profit organization that emphasizes the importance of having a positive attitude and supporting one another throughout our daily lives.

The students participated in certain obstacles such as a climbing wall, ropes course and other activities that involved trusting their peers and having respect for others. The course was designed to help students develop mentally, physically, socially and emotionally with one another. The six leadership principles of focus with the students were goal setting, responsibility, cooperation, respect, trustworthiness and risk-taking.

“Adventures in Leadership Day is a wonderful day for our sixth graders. It is amazing how much friendship and encouragement grows out of this one day where responsibility, trustworthiness, and respect are emphasized and practiced all day long,” stated Libby Boeing, Rapid Run Middle school sixth grade teacher.
