On Thursday, May 24, Oak Hills students both past and present were recognized at the University of Cincinnati German Department Awards Ceremony. German Department Chair, Dr. Katharina Gerstenberger congratulated Oak Hills for winning German Day’s overall Culture Bowl championship for the last three consecutive years.
The 2012 Culture Bowl team of Matt Ellis, Sarah Harding and Ashleigh Outt were presented with certificates at the event to commemorate their accomplishment. Other students recognized at the UC German Department Awards Ceremony from this year’s German Day included Katherine Herbort for second place in the Level III Grammar, Sarah Harding for third place in Level III Grammar, and Rahel Admasu for third place in Culture.
Numerous Oak Hills alumni were also recognized in the ceremony. This list of alumni included Brian Rieman, ‘12, an incoming UC student for receiving the Lena K. Suter Award, Candace Dupps, ‘10, for receiving the Poll Prize and also receiving the Lena K. Suter Award, Sophia Herrmann, ‘10, for receiving the Helga Daly Scholarship and her summer studies in Berlin, and finally Donald Schille, ‘11, for his first year language sequence award.
Oak Hills is very proud of their students’ accomplishments.
